Ulaanbaatar Stadium as the main venue of this volleyball match, because the stadium was built earlier, lack of large-scale maintenance and overhaul, the aging facilities in the stadium caused some function loss, can not meet the needs of the stadium to hold large-scale activities, so the renovation and upgrading to meet the requirements of the games.
During this period, in order to ensure the smooth acceptance of the project, the project department overcame the difficulties such as the delay in the overall transfer of the venue by the foreign party and the delay in the delivery of materials due to the impact of the epidemic, paid close attention to process control, and put “ Progress, quality, safety” Three goals, always unswervingly implemented into the daily work, through “ Before, during and after ” Three control principles, strictly each project node, project difficulties, project risk points.
On Aug 18, the volleyball competition of the 2023 East Asian Youth Games officially kicked off at Ulaanbaatar Stadium. This is the first competition held after the completion of the renovation of the stadium, which is further recognition of the repair project of the Ulaanbaatar Stadium after the smooth transfer of the project, and also a further promotion of China-Mongolia friendship.
The construction content of this maintenance project mainly includes: wood floor renovation, lighting system replacement, sound reinforcement system update, LED large screen, time scoring system upgrade, public address system, integrated wiring system, video surveillance system, cable TV system and mechanical and electrical equipment system installation and update and other sports technology.

The upgraded stadium will further improve Mongolia's sports infrastructure and promote the development of local sports.
