Myanmar National Stadium began construction in February 1983 with the assistance of China and was completed in March 1986, costing 31077.43 million kyat. It covers an area of about 17.17 acres and has 10,825 seats, which is one of the few in Southeast Asia in the 1980s “ The Pavilion of all people ” After its completion, it is known as China and Myanmar “ A monument of friendship ” . Because the pavilion, as the most major sports venue in Myanmar, has been used frequently for more than 30 years, the facilities and equipment are aging, the air conditioning system is insufficient, and the fire protection system is broken, the authorities decided to carry out the renovation with the assistance of China and completed it this year.
In August 2019, China and Myanmar held a groundbreaking ceremony. As a subcontractor, Zhonglu Sports overcame the epidemic and other difficulties, continued to promote the construction, and in December 2021, the project was successfully completed and successfully handed over. Here, the people of Myanmar can build up their health and athletes can train and prepare for war. At the same time, it will also provide greater convenience for Myanmar to hold various competitions and activities.
said U Min Thein Zan, Myanmar's minister of Sports and youth Affairs, “ Myanmar and China enjoy a long history of friendly exchanges, and the two peoples are like brothers and sisters with profound pauk-phaw friendship &rdquo. . During the construction of the stadium, China provided the needed help, for which Myanmar is deeply grateful. With a capacity of 10,825 people, the stadium has held international level sports competitions, domestic sports competitions, as well as many ceremonies, and trained national sports players since its inception. ”
The stadium renovation project cost 220 million yuan. The Chinese side completed the renovation of the National Indoor Stadium in accordance with the original shape and within the specified time, which is a good example of China-Myanmar cooperation. China's help will be a milestone in the history of the two countries.
